Twenty years ago, Pope John Paul II wrote an apostolic letter that revolutionized the way in which women viewed themselves and their fundamental vocation. Mulieris dignitatem, On the Dignity and Vocation of Women, proclaimed the feminine genius, its attributes, and its need and necessity both in the Church and in the culture of the day. In this letter, the Holy Father, looked to the Blessed Virgin Mary as the exemplar of all women, the hand-selected choice of the Father as the feminine ideal. What makes her so? How does she lead and guide through example? To what extent does she spiritually mother us to live out the gift of our feminine vocation? Our two guests give us insights on living out her guidance through their own apostolic outreaches.
