Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton — A Real Woman of Grace

st.elizabeth.ann.seton

In my reliquary, I have a first class relic of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first native-born American to be canonized. I find it appropriate that a woman was the first of our land to be lifted to the altar of Christ by Holy Mother Church. After all, our country and all of North America is dedicated to the woman: the Blessed Virgin Mary under her title of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Our special patroness is also the Blessed Mother under her name, Immaculate Conception. Read the rest…

Coincidence or God – Incidence? By Paulette Renaudin

MagnificatMagnificat Central Service Team (CST) Member

A few weeks ago, I was privileged, along with CST sister, Diane Bates, to attend the Benedicta Leadership Institute and the National Women of Grace Conference held in Diane’s home parish, St. Francis of Assisi in Grapevine, Texas. What Divine Providence! Nothing is coincidence! The amazing thing was that Johnnette Benkovic had invited Living Praise Worship Team to lead the praise and worship at both events. It was the first time Magnificat CST members, Grapevine Magnificat Chapter’s Leadership, Women of Grace Regional Representatives, and Living Praise were all celebrating under one roof! Coming together under the same anointing was a beautiful experience that only the Holy Spirit could have orchestrated! What a holy exchange of sacred sisterhood! Read the rest…

To Attend, or Not to Attend

The following post is from the Catholic Answers website.  I mentioned it on the Women of Grace Live radio program today and am posting it here for those who have been struggling with this issue.

I have been an apologist for Catholic Answers since 2003. When people find out how long I’ve been with Catholic Answers, they sometimes ask, “What is the most-asked question you receive?” That’s easy: Can I go to this wedding? The question has been asked so often, in fact, that in 2007 I created a checklist for laypeople to use to decide for themselves if they could go to a particular wedding. In the years since, that checklist has become one of the most-viewed apologist Q&A’s on the Catholic Answers Forums, with over 75,000 views. Read the rest…

GRAPEVINE — “The Holy Spirit is illuminating the minds and hearts of the daughters of God to the reality of who they truly are in light of the great gift of their authentic femininity,” said Johnnette Benkovic, Women of Grace founder, during the 2015 Women of Grace National Conference Oct. 23-25 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Grapevine. Women of Grace: St. Teresa of Avila (1515 – 1582)

teresa.avila

St. Teresa of Avila shows us it is never too late to get serious about our prayer life. Born Dona Teresa Sanchez Cepeda Davila y Ahumada, Teresa was an active child with a big imagination and great sensitivity of heart. Little Teresa and her brother Roderigo were intrigued by the lives of the saints and the martyrs, and often sought to imitate their holy example. Read the rest…

October 13th and the Miracle of the Sun

Eye witnesses to the “Miracle of the Sun.”

From the earliest times, the history of the Church is studded with appearances of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  One such apparition happened when Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children in the small hamlet of Cova da Iria in Fatima, Portugal. Read the rest…

Women of Grace: St. Therese of Lisieux

st.thereseI’ve always loved St. Thérèse of Lisieux.  From the time I heard her story as a child in Catholic grade-school, her story and writings have resonated in my soul.  So much did I love our “Little Flower” that I composed a prayer card in her honor when I was eight years old, which you can read below.
