Lourdes Shrine in Ruins After Floods

LourdesThe mayor of Lourdes, France is pleading for help after the worst flooding in a century left the Shrine of Lourdes in ruins.

The Telegraph is reporting that the Shrine is buried beneath more than a meter of mud with the grotto looking more like a war zone than one of the most beloved Catholic shrines in the world.

Name of St. Joseph Added to Eucharistic Prayers

The Vatican’s Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments has issued new texts that include the name of St. Joseph, husband of the virgin Mary, in the main Eucharistic Prayers at Mass.

Vatican: 100,000 Christians Killed Every Year for the Faith

In an address to the United Nation’s Human Rights Council in Geneva this week, Archbishop Silvano Tomasi expressed deep concern over the continuing discrimination and systematic attacks upon Christians occurring worldwide which have resulted in the death of more than 100,000 followers of Christ per year.
