Citizen Campaign Sends More than 4 Million “Pink Slips” to Congress

A campaign launched three weeks ago by a popular on-line news source has resulted in more than four million “pink slips” being sent to members of Congress, warning them that a vote for higher spending , socialized medicine, cap-and-trade legislation and hate-crimes bills will result in a “pink slip” on election day 2010.

Pro-Life Democrats Refuse to Yield on Abortion Funding

While the House version of health care reform seems to be proceeding according to schedule, nearly two dozen pro-life Democrats are maintaining their threat to use a procedural move to block a vote on the bill unless  members are permitted to vote on an amendment specifically prohibiting abortion funding in the bill.

Patrick Kennedy Accuses Church of Fanning “Flames of Dissent and Discord”

Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), the son of the late Senator Edward Kennedy, is accusing the Catholic Church of fanning “the flames of dissent and discord” by stating its opposition to health care reform unless it is amended to explicitly prohibit abortion funding.

Lawmakers Confused about Constitutionality of Mandated Insurance

Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Pro-Marriage Groups

The U.S. Supreme Court has issued a stay on a federal appeals court decision that would allow the release of the names of persons who signed a petition supporting a public referendum on a law giving homosexual couples the same rights and benefits of marriage in the state of Washington.
