God Wants the Worst from Us

Not long ago, a woman aspiring to sanctity and holiness of life shared with me that she received a beautiful gift from the Lord on her birthday. It was during her time of prayer when she seemed to “hear” the voice of God deep down in the inner recesses of her heart.

This is what she heard:

“Let me love you, my daughter. Let me love you in those areas of pain, in those areas of shame, in those areas that seem to be the refuse of your life. Let me love you there.”

Government Issues Dire Warning About Swine Flu

The President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology is warning that the swine flu could cause up to 90,000 U.S. deaths, mainly among children and young adults, and see more than 1.8 million hospitalized if the H1N1 virus resurges as expected this fall.

Vatican Denies Reports of Forthcoming Liturgical Changes

Responding to reports promulgated by some news organizations, the Press Office of the Holy See told the Italian press yesterday that Pope Benedict XVI is not planning to make changes to enhance the sacredness of the liturgy at this time.
