Pope Calls for Protection of Civilians in Libya

In an appeal launched after reciting the Angelus yesterday in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Beneidcct XVI addressed the “alarming news” coming out of Libya and called upon those in positions of military and political responsibility to keep the well-being of the citizens at heart and to guarantee the arrival of humanitarian aid.

EU Rules Crucifixes in Classrooms Don’t Violate the Law

In a stunning reversal of a lower court ruling, the “Grande Chambre” of the European Court of Human Rights ruled on Friday that crucifixes in public school classrooms in Italy do not violate a student’s freedom of conscience.

Father John Corapi is asking for prayer after being put on administrative leave after a former female employee filed a three-page letter to several bishops falsely accusing him of “everything from drug addition to multiple sexual exploits” with her and several other women.

In spite of the extensive coverage given whenever an act of violence is perpetrated against an abortion clinic, when an unknown assailant threw a Molotov cocktail at an elderly woman who was part of a 40 Days for Life protest last week in Kalispell, Montana, not even the local police paid much attention.
