Annise Parker, the openly gay mayor of Houston,  got a tongue-lashing this week from a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights for demanding copies of the sermons and e-mails of five Houston pastors who supported a citizen-led initiative to defeat a controversial transgender law.

Remembering Helen Hull Hitchcock, ‘a true daughter of God’

HHHrgb1This week, the EWTN family pays tribute to Helen Hull Hitchcock, a true daughter of God and defender of Catholic faith and family.  She was a pioneer in the renewal of the sacred liturgy and reclaiming women’s authentic role in the Church.

Seminarian With Brain Cancer Addresses Brittany Maynard

A young seminarian with incurable brain cancer is praying that 29 year-old Brittany Maynard, who is suffering the same plight and publicly announced plans to take her life with prescription drugs on November 1, is asking her to choose to fight instead so that her life and witness can be an example and inspiration to others.
