January 30

January 30

“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.  What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, do; and the God of peace will be with you.

Destroy Bad Habits

St.John.Vianney.Habits

January 29

“The way to destroy bad habits is by watchfulness and by doing often those things that are opposites to one’s besetting sins.”

~St. John Vianney

For Reflection:
What one bad habit is the Holy Spirit giving me the grace to overcome (Hint: Which sin do I/should I confess most often?)? What virtue is the opposite of it? In what three ways can I begin to exercise that virtue to help eradicate this “besetting sin?”
