MP writes: “On Veritas, an Irish Catholic site, I found an advertisement for Caroline Myss’ book Anatomy of the Spirit. Isn’t she New Age? The book “describes a seven-step process for promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, offering a detailed introduction to the new field of energy medicine.”

Church of Ireland Recognizes First Miracle at Knock Shrine
O Heart, fountain of sweetness!
God opened my heart
September 8
“…Fourteen years later, God opened my heart to consider the claims of the Catholic Church. The Church taught that Jesus meant what He said to the Jews in John, Chapter 6: ‘Unless you eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed’ (John 6:53-55). I finally realized that if the Eucharist is Christ, there is no where else on earth to be but the Church our Savior established and for which He gave His life, and through which He gives us His very self — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity — as our Food.”
-Rosalind Moss, Mother Miriam of the Lamb of God, O.S.B.
Today’s Reflection:
Rosalind Moss was a Jewish convert to Christianity. Now she is Mother Miriam. How does her account enhance your appreciation of the Holy Eucharist?
Exploring the Pagan Roots of Drumming Circles
DH asks: “Have you investigated any information about drum circles that are “popping up” in Catholic Churches and at women religious retreats? We have some very devout people in our parish who are musicians and they have latched onto the idea that Christian praise and worship can occur within drum circles. They have organized a drum circle and the group alternates meetings between our Catholic Church and a local Protestant denomination. Our Youth Ministry members also participate now. The drum circle is advertised as “musical worship, family fun, includes the children , and, as an appealing way to praise God. . .
We have been taught
September 7
“…We have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharist prayer set down by him…is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus.”
-St. Justin Martyr
Today’s Reflection:
St. Justin Martyr is affirming to us that Jesus Christ himself taught us that the Eucharist is his flesh and blood. Our faith in this teaching is a gift. Spend time in gratitude for the gift of the Eucharist and the fact that you embrace this teaching. If you do not believe, ask Our Lord to unveil this gift to you
Don’t Let the Media Define the Case Against Potter
Don’t wait for the media to give you a fair and balanced report on Harry Potter books and why a Catholic pastor from Tennessee decided they weren’t suited for the children in his school. Instead of presenting the priest’s side of the story, the media is using the opportunity to paint Potter foes as a pack of fringe-dwelling fanatics and doing everything in their power to avoid interviewing any of the esteemed experts who have spoken out against these books for fear of tarnishing the luster on their “golden calf” – Harry Potter.
How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard?
September 6
“How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?”
-Romans 10:14
Today’s Reflection:
Many have never heard the Catholic Church teaching that Jesus is really and truly present in the Eucharist — body, blood, soul and divinity. This includes many Catholics. Who can share this amazing truth with today?
Preparation for Total Consecration ~ Perfect Birthday Gift for Our Lady
There are times when a mere book can be life-changing. One such book is entitled True Devotion to Mary, by Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, a spiritual introduction to the Marian devotion known as Total Consecration to Our Lady.
How the Media is Spinning the Potter Book Banning Story
After consulting wit several exorcists, Rev. Daniel Reehil, pastor of St. Edward parish in Nashville, Tennessee, made the courageous decision to ban the enormously popular Harry Potter occult-fiction books from the school library. Instead of presenting all the facts about why he made this decision, the biased media is fueling Potter-fan outrage by keeping their reporting as shallow and nondescript as possible.
