April 3

“Are you capable of risking your life for someone? Do it for Christ.”

– St. John Paul II

Today’s Reflection

There are occassions when in prayer, we are filled with zeal, and a willingness to risk everything for the Lord. But most of the time “risking your life for someone” is the small act of laying down your pride, your way of doing things, your ideas, your opinions. Can I pray to St. Expedite?

St. Expeditus (WikiCommon: Piotr Rymuza)

LB writes: “Is praying a novena to this saint okay? I’ve read different things about leaving an offering of pound cake and that some people that practice voodoo pray to this saint. Commentary by Susan Brinkmann, OCDS

In yet another example of a small minority of people imposing their will on the majority, a new poll has found that the overwhelming majority of New York state residents not only oppose late-term term but would limit abortion to the first three months of pregnancy – which means most residents oppose the radical Reproductive Health Act passed in January.
