Why You Shouldn’t Waste Your Money on Bioresonance Devices

The Wacky Wednesday edition of EWTN’s Women of Grace® Live Radio is always an interesting show that never fails to turn up questions about some of the wackiest New Age practices and “treatments” on the planet – such as whether or not a “bioresonance” device known as the Healy can really keep us healthy.

Three states of conversion

September 3

“There are in truth three states of the converted: the beginning, the middle, and the perfection. In the beginning they experience the charms of sweetness; in the middle the contests of temptation; and in the end the
fullness of perfection.”

-St. Gregory the Great

Today’s Reflection:

This quote brings to mind the words of St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. One of the most beautiful things about our spiritual journey is the levels by which we continue to meet our Lord deeper and deeper.

If you were totally honest with yourself, where are you in your journey, according to the quote above? Have you started the process of being converted? Are you in stage one? Stage two? Stage three? Ask our Lord to open your heart to the truth of where you currently are, and then lean into the graces He has in store for you to bring you ever deeper in your journey
with Him.

St. Gregory the Great, on this your feast day, pray for us!

The greatest service

September 2
“Know that the greatest service that man can offer to God is to help
convert souls.”
-St. Rose of Lima
Today’s Reflection:
It could also be said that the greatest service a man can offer to God is to be converted. For what affect can a soul have on others if they have not experienced their own full embrace of God?

60 Million

60 million.

Since 1972, the United States has lost over 60 million citizens through legalized abortion. It’s a huge number, almost unfathomable when you really think about it. That’s more than the current population in the state of California. Imagine the great minds and souls we have lost. Great inventors, scientists, leaders, and most importantly saints who could have transformed the world through their lives.

To live is to change

September 1

“To live is to change, and to be perfect is to have changed often.”

-Bl. John Henry Cardinal Newman

Today’s Reflection:

This quote is a favorite! And what a perfect time of year to really pray with it. The leaves are about to start changing…Autumn is on its way!

The Lord calls us to grow deeper in our relationship with Him. In doing so, we are opened up to things in our lives that we are called to turn away from. God calls us to change. How is He calling you to change this month? What sins does He want you to bring to confession? What habits are keeping you from growing closer to Him?

Lord, open our hearts to truly see who we have become, and fill us with Your healing grace!

The grace of yes

August 31
PRAYER FOR GOD’S WILL
Lord Jesus, may I know myself and know Thee.
And desire nothing save only Thee.
May I hate myself and love Thee.
May I do everything for the sake of Thee.
May I humble myself and exalt Thee.
May I think of nothing except Thee.
May I die to myself and live in Thee.
May I receive whatever happens as from Thee.
May I banish self and follow Thee.
And ever desire to follow Thee.
May I fly from myself and fly to Thee,
That I may deserve to be defended by Thee.
May I fear for myself and fear Thee.
And be among those who are chosen by Thee.
May I distrust myself and trust in Thee.
May I be willing to obey on account of Thee.
May I cling to nothing but to Thee.
May I be poor for the sake of Thee.
Look upon me that I may love Thee.
Call me that I may see Thee.
And ever and ever enjoy Thee.
Amen.
~St. Augustine
For Reflection:
I seek the grace to say “Yes” to all that is in this prayer.

The good God

August 30
“Whatever the good God has given me has
always pleased me, even the gifts which have appeared to me less good and less beautiful than those received by others.”
~St. Thérèse of Lisieux
For Reflection:
How often I am discouraged, jealous, envious, and lacking peace because I see what others have that I do not! Today, I will ask St. Thérèse
to intercede for me that I may not lust for that which I do not have, but be filled with gratitude for that which has been given to me.

Once our resolution has been made

August 29
“Although the difficulties, temptations, and different events that occur in
the course of carrying out our plan may cause us some uncertainly as to whether we have chosen well, once our resolution has been made, we must never doubt the holiness of its execution.”
~St. Francis de Sales
For Reflection:
Another tactic the evil one uses to render us ineffective is to create trials and difficulties for us as we seek to conform to God’s will. His hope is that we will give up, convinced we have made a mistake. Am I willing to
persevere and not fall victim to this ploy of the evil one – no matter the cost?

The light of the Holy Spirit

August 28
“After we have implored the light of the Holy Spirit, applied our thought to search for His good pleasure, taken counsel with our director and perhaps two or three other spiritual persons, we must come to a resolution and decision
in the name of God.”
~ St. Francis de Sales
For Reflection:
This quote reveals another tactic of the evil one. He will incite doubt, confusion, and uncertainty into our heart so as to hold up our consent to God. What about my own personality or temperament could cause me to fall victim to this strategy? Beg God for the grace to overcome this temptation.
