Parents Beware: Next Week’s Episode of GLEE to Feature Same-Sex Relations

Perhaps in a bid to up its falling ratings, Glee, the popular teen TV show, is scheduled to push new boundaries in its next show which will feature a same-sex couple consummating their relationship.

The Daily Mail is reporting that next week’s episode, which will be called, “The First Time,” will show Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) taking their relationship to the next level. A heterosexual couple, Rachel (Lea Michele) and Finn (Cory Monteith), will also have sex for the first time on the show.

Those who have seen previews say the episode handles both scenes  “very delicately” but viewers will know exactly what’s going on. Entertainment Weekly described the plot line as “incredibly moving” and lauded the show as “one of the best installments ever.”

This latest controversy comes in the wake of the launch of a national petition campaign aimed at the show for misrepresenting adoption in a recent episode. Adoption proponents say the episode in question leaves the audience with the impression that a birth mother can simply reclaim her child, which is not true, and is one of the most damaging myths associated with adoption. The petition is asking Glee producers to run a public service announcement setting the record straight about how adoption works.

That this show is distorting the purpose of human sexuality in the minds of our children is one of the reasons why the Parents Television Council has rated this show as inappropriate for children under the age of 16.
