For those of you who didn’t hear, the embattled Christian-owned Chick-fil-A raked in record sales during yesterday’s “Appreciation Day” – and the U. S. media aren’t happy about it.
Even though the story was virtually blacked out on most newscasts, the citizenry was only too happy to keep the New Media informed of the spectacular turnout of support received by Chick-fil-A across the country. Gateway Pundit is posting their photos and comments, which reveal much about how the citizenry feels about the bullying tactics of gay activists who are trying to strip a business owner of his constitutional rights just because he supports traditional marriage.
As one citizen from Missouri told the Pundit, “People are standing in line 100+ deep to go inside. The lines go out and around the building. Two lines of drive through cars are around the shopping center.”
A woman from Texas reported that the Los Colinas Chick-fil-A had lines three cars-wide wrapped around the building with a “huge” line of foot traffic. “It’s a great day for Freedom of speech,” she writes. “Take that Boston, Chicago and San Francisco!”
Another man from Virginia reported on three stores in Fredericksburg that were packed with cars and drive-thru lanes that were wrapped around the building. Overflow parking was required to accommodate all the people.
A photo of the inside of a Boise, Idaho Chick-fil-A showed a throng of people waiting in line to be served.
Someone from California reported that the drive thru line for the Chick-fil-A in Northridge had cars backed up down the street with the line of people waiting to get into the restaurant running around the back of the building.
Former Arkansas Mike Huckabee, who launched yesterday’s “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” was overjoyed at the response.
“It’s gone beyond anything I could have imagined,” Huckabee told Fox News. “Every one of (the stores) that I know have reported record, historic sales yesterday. … A lot of the stores ran out of chicken before the end of the day.”
California pastor Rick Warren tweeted halfway through the day that Dan Cathy, president and CEO of Chick-fil-a told him their stores had already set a “world record” for sales and the day was only half over.
And what did the mainstream media have to say about the massive outpouring of support for Chick-fil-A? Almost nothing, and what they did say was riddled with the usual distortions.
The perfect example is U.S. News and World Report which blared the headline “Chick-fil-A Wants Nothing to Do with Mike Huckabee’s Appreciation Day.”
They based this report on the following press release from Chick-fil-A: “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day was not created by Chick-fil-A. We appreciate all of our customers and are glad to serve them at any time. Our goal is simple: to provide great food, genuine hospitality and to have a positive influence on all who come into contact with Chick-fil-A. As a privately held company Chick-fil-A does not comment publicly about our sales figures or volume.”
U.S. News’ Elizabeth Flock used her best creative writing skills to twist this simple statement into meaning that Huckabee’s Appreciation Day “isn’t getting much love” from Chick-fil-A.
All in all, it was a great day for a free America and a very bad one for those who believe their political agenda trumps the Constitution – namely, gay activists and the journalists who cover for them.

I waited in the hot Florida sun for one hour in a very long line of cheerful people. Then I waited in line about another hour to order and get my food. The inside of the restaurant was packed with people like sardines and no one complained. It was a wonderful day for family values and freedom of speech.
