Liberal movie reviewers are having a field day with the new Dinesh D’Souza film which expounds on President Barack Obama’s past and how it figures into his governing style, with some reviewers actually panning the film without seeing anything more than a trailer.
The Christian Post (CP) writes that the film, entitled 2016-Obama’s America” produced by Gerald R. Molen (Rain Man, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List) is based on two books by respected author and scholar Dinesh D’Souza. The documentary-style film takes a look at the president’s past in order to discern what the U.S. would look like if he was re-elected to a second term.
Naturally, pro-Obama Hollywood hates the film – even before they see it – and are not above doing whatever they can to scare people away from seeing it.
“While the film itself was not yet available when this story went to press, the trailer resembles a cross between a high-budget feature and standard Tea Party agitprop,” opines Washington, D.C.-based politics writer Mariah Blake in an article she titles as “Dinesh D’Souza’s 2016: Feature-length Obama hate.”
Commenting on the piece in a recent Fox News article, producer Molen said: “If you thought being one of the producers of one of the greatest anti-hate films in history, one that exposed hatred, bigotry and anti-semitism would make you immune from being labeled a hate monger, think again. ‘Schindlers List’ left its mark on the world and did so by telling the truth about man’s inhumanity to men. Yet the slings and arrows came at me to impinge my credibility, the work of Dinesh D’Souza and to once again use hate as their passport to the dark side.”
What appears to be riling up Hollywood even more is the fact that the film, which is currently showing in a limited number of theaters across the country, is beginning to catch on with some theaters extending its screening.
“The word-of-mouth has been phenomenal,” Molen said.
But so has the partisan sniping. Molen recently participated in a radio show when a caller launched into an extended rant about how the film was all about “trashing Obama.” When Molen asked if the caller had seen the movie yet, the caller said, “No.” He responded: “Why don’t you see the film? Then you and I could have a more honest discussion.”
“It’s that kind of thing – that people are judging without having any substance to their argument – that’s occurring regularly,” Molen told the CP.
“It seems the left in America can only define something they don’t understand, something that frightens them, something so truthful it hurts or something they have no real response to that leaves them grasping for any kind of answer that comes with the hope that maybe it will just go away … and if it doesn’t, do all possible to destroy it.”
He calls the attacks nothing more than “high-tech censorship,” saying the first salvo was all about trying to impugn his motives with questions about who funded the film.
“I don’t remember anyone in the mainstream press questioning Michael Moore about his motives (he wore them on his sleeve) or where the funding came from (deep pockets of those sharing his ideology). No questions asked…”
Molen also believes that the movie should be required viewing by all Americans. “Then you can do your own homework and make up your own mind,” he said.
He warned that “there are forces out there who don’t want you to view this movie and will try desperately to keep you away from the theater by impugning the character of people like me who created the work, hoping it’ll scare you away.
But that’s not the American way, he says.
“I hope you’ll ignore these voices of fear and enjoy the show.”
The film is being rolled out in theaters over the course of the next few weeks. Click here to find a theater near you.

We just returned home from seeing this show. The movie was made in good taste, just facts, and truth. Dinesh D’Souza is a man of honor and respect, I’ve heard him speak a number of times and this film depict’s his gentleness and yet his contant search for truth which flows from a deep love of country and his knowledge from the journey he has been on personally. I highly recommend the viewing of this movie to all.
