“‘Do not fear, Mary. You have found favor with God’ … fear can be both compelling and crippling…We should know the fear of God which brings us to God’s love, but once we know this love, all crippling fear is gone. We believe all things in this love.”
John Michael Talbot
For Reflection:
Fear of the Lord is awe of Him and of His majesty and glory. Morbid fear, however, paralyzes us and prevents us from accomplishing God’s will. In what ways have I experienced both of these fears? How can Mary’s example help me not to be crippled by fear in the future?
