The polls were not even open yet and tales of voter fraud were already rampant across the country. If you see something suspicious at your polling site, a new hotline has been set up to enable you to report the incident.
True the Vote (TTV) is a nonpartisan election integrity organization that has set up the Election Integrity Hotline where voters can document any potentially illegal activity that takes place either inside or outside of a polling place. TTV will take care of reporting these incidents to the appropriate authorities.
“If you want to make a difference on November 6th, True the Vote has a job for you,” said True the Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht. “Election integrity captured the American conscience with a rough cell phone video of New Black Panthers intimidating voters in Pennsylvania in 2008. Intimidation and electioneering is illegal inside and outside of polls. You have the power to be America’s eyes and ears.”
In addition to filing a report over the internet, citizens can also call 855-444-6100. If you have pictures, these can be directed to freeandfair@truethevote.org.
In their training film, they encourage voters to “Watch, record, and report. All you need is your cameraphone and love of country to make a difference in this election.”
