Early word from the Vatican Press Office is that the College of Cardinals is expected to vote today on a start date for the Conclave with most expecting that it will begin early next week.
According to Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Holy See Press Office, a meeting this evening of the College Of Cardinals will probably result in a date for the start of the Conclave.
He said “it is likely the Conclave will begin early next week: perhaps Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. It definitely will not be tomorrow or Sunday. Tomorrow a General Congregation will only take place in the morning and on Sunday it is expected that the cardinals will visit their titular churches in the city to pray. They are under no obligation to do so, but it is likely that they will.”
