An Italian woman who arrived late for the Air France plane flight that crashed in the Atlantic last week has been killed in a car accident.
According to a report by the ANSA news agency, Johanna Ganthaler, from Bolzano-Bozen province, had been on holiday in Brazil with her husband Kurt and missed Air France Flight 447 after arriving late at Rio de Janeiro airport on May 31.
Four hours into the flight to Paris, the plane crashed into Atlantic Ocean, killing all 228 people on board.
After missing the flight, the Ganthalers caught a flight out of Rio the following day and were driving in Kufstein, Austria when their vehicle veered across the road and into the path of an ocoming truck. Mrs. Ganthaler was killed in the crash and her husband seriously injured.
