The former head of the liberal Catholics for Faithful Citizenship was arrested in Ohio on Jan. 14 on seven felony prostitution charges, including some involving minors.
According to a report appearing on LifeSiteNews.com, Robert Eric McFadden, 46, is accused of running website where customers could post “reviews” of local prostitutes. In his on-line posts, he calls himself the “guru” of prostitution in Columbus, Ohio and wrote reviews on prostitutes as well as advice on how not to get caught.
Police say he also helped organize a $10-a-ticket raffle offering an evening with a prostitute. The charges against him also include four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor.
McFadden also served as director of Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good and headed Catholics for (John) Kerry in 2004. He served as Hillary Clinton’s lead Catholic outreach organizer during the Democratic primary and in the most recent election, was well-known for attacking Catholics who opposed Barack Obama.
On September 2, 2008, McFadden wrote, “Barrack Obama [sic] believes in solutions that reduce the number of abortions, by recognizing that health care and education help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies. This will reduce the number of abortions.”
The Catholic News Agency (CNA) reports that last year McFadden wrote a letter to the Knights of Columbus, to which he belonged, criticizing Supreme Knight Carl Anderson for telling Catholics that they cannot vote for pro-abortion candidates.
“Carl Anderson should resign as Supreme Knight so the good work of the Knights of Columbus can continue without the stain of partisan politics,” wrote McFadden.
McFadden also served as the former head of the Office of Faith-Based Initiatives for Governor of Ohio, Ted Strickland.
“Obviously, this is a very sad, shocking and appalling situation,” said Keith Dailey, Strickland’s press secretary.
