Mainstream media networks opted to keep Americans in the dark last week about the government’s intention to invade newsrooms to determine if journalists are meeting the public’s “critical information needs.”
According to NewsBusters, NBC, ABC, and CBS chose to completely ignore last week’s biggest story about the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) plan to send government contractors into newsrooms to question editors and reporters about what news they choose to report and why they do so.
The story caused such an uproar around the nation among those citizens who were fortunate enough to hear about it that the FCC quickly backtracked on the program and is now promising to shelve it while they work on “revisions”.
In other words, it’s gone for now, but it’ll be back again soon.
The only thing more disgraceful than this program is the fact that the media are so intent on professing their liberal ideology that they’ll actually allow the government to rob them of their own freedom – and ours – just for the sake of their political agenda.
It’s time to clean up the newsrooms alright – but this is a job for the people, not the government!
