A video, newly released from a newsreel archive company, features Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger telling a journalist that she believed women should stop having babies.

According to the Daily Caller, the video was archived along with 85,000 other historic films at British Pathe until the company decided to upload them to YouTube. The collection spans the years from 1896 to 1976.

In one of the films, Margaret Sanger is featured in at interview at the Dorchester Hotel in London. At the time, she was the president of the America Planned Parenthood Federation and was using the name Margaret Slee, which was her second husband’s name.

During the interview, which was filmed in 1947, she argued that people in developing countries should stop having babies for 10 years.

“Don’t you think such a radical theory is anti-social?” the interviewer asks.

“On the contrary,” Sanger replies.”It seems to me that it is more practical and humane.”

The interview ends with Sanger looking directly into the camera and saying quite firmly, “From my view, there should be no more babies.”
