A Spanish bishop has devised a test Catholics can take during this Year for Priests to assess just how much they appreciate their priests.
According to a report by Zenit News, Bishop José Ignacio Munilla of Palencia put together a questionnaire, entitled “Priestly Appreciation,” which appears on the diocesan website. Composed “with a bit of humor,” the test comes complete with instructions on how to evaluate your answers and determine your level of appreciation for the priesthood.
For instance, one question raises the question of what we do when we hear someone criticizing a priest. Do we a) follow their lead so as not to stand out; b) tune it out and pretend to think of something else, or; c) witness to your faith by speaking up about it.
Another asks what we see in a priest. Is he a) a relic of the past; b) a “professional” of religion, or; c) a minister of God – “another Christ” among us.
Depending on how one responds to the 12 questions, a person will learn if they are completely lacking in appreciation of priests, not enjoying the treasure of the priesthood as completely as possible, or is fully appreciating their priests.
