Media Glorify Filth-Strewn Climate March

In case you didn’t notice, the Big Three – ABC, NBC, and CBS – once again fed the public with propaganda rather than news with their glowing coverage of the filth-strewn People’s Climate March on Sunday, the same networks that devoted almost no coverage at all to the March for Life in January.

The Media Research Center’s Julia A. Seymour is reporting that not only did the networks obsess over the Climate March, they also portrayed it in a positive light, even though it was filled with radicals, socialists and people who showed up in gas-guzzling SUV’s or private planes.

For the sake of comparison, Seymour reports that the Big Three gave a combined total of three minutes and 27 seconds to the climate march, with only NBC and ABC devoting just 46 seconds to this year’s March for Life. That equates to four-times as much coverage for the climate march!

What’s even more aggravating is how these networks chose to cover the climate march.

“Nothing was said on any of the network news’ programs about how far people traveled by fossil fuel guzzling cars or airplanes to march in New York City on Sept. 21,” Seymour reports. “The hypocrisy of expending massive amounts of greenhouse gases in order to call for an end to fossil fuels was ignored, although green celebrity Al Gore and the UN’s Ban-Ki Moon were both mentioned by name on ‘Nightly News’.”

Network coverage also neglected to inform the public that protestors were calling for “revolution” and a “new society”. Socialist groups, such as the Communist Party USA and Occupy groups, were also big backers of the protest. Socialism was blatantly promoted by speakers at the march and socialist literature was widely available.

When some reporters did attempt to confront these issues, such as when actor Mark Ruffalo, who is a big Occupy Wall Street supporter, was asked about the huge carbon footprints of some of the attendees at the march, they were stonewalled.

climate change march“Oh brother,” Ruffalo said. “That is a question you shouldn’t be asking here today because that defies the spirit of what this is about.”

New media reporter Michelle Fields of PJ Media got an earful when she asked climate activist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. about his footprint and the kind of cellphone and car he was driving.

“Are you going to give up YOURS?” Kennedy retorted.

“I’m not the one who’s here talking about the environment,” Fields responded.

He went on to grab her microphone and declare: “One of the biggest canards that the press is falling for is blaming individuals for their own choices. That’s not the issue, the issue is what’s happening on Capitol Hill and that’s the thing you guys aren’t paying attention to.”

Kennedy then blamed the press for letting the conservative Koch brothers “run our country, subvert our democracy, corrupt our politicians . . . And that’s what you ought to be paying attention to rather than asking trivial and inane questions about what kind of car somebody drives or whether or not they use cellphones.”

When Fields tried to ask actor Leonardo di Caprio about the carbon footprint he was leaving on the world with his yacht and other luxurious forms of transportation, she was quickly shooed away.

Meanwhile, the more than 300,000 marchers left the streets of New York, which prompted cries of “hypocrites” from the taxpayers who will have to fund the clean up.

@chelsea_elisa tweeted a photo of an overflowing trash can with the comment: “Their love for the Earth is so real, they couldn’t even use a trash can.”

David Kreutzer, a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, shared a photo tweeted by Donna Freydkin which showed a disgusting pile of refuse on the sidewalk. “Somehow this doesn’t seem too green 2me,” Kreutzer tweeted.
