Being a part of Catholic Radio is a gift I could have never have imagined. It is the fulfillment of a call that God placed on my heart many years ago.
One of the highlights of my year is attending the Catholic Radio Conference, sponsored by EWTN and the Catholic Radio Association, and held each year in Birmingham, Alabama. It is a beautiful time of fellowship with the men and women who have also been called to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ through the airways.
The conference brings together EWTN’s leadership team, technical experts and the hosts who create Catholic radio programming with those individuals who are doing the work of funding and administrating the stations that air Catholic programming. Both are important sides of the same coin and we work hand in hand together.
I had the pleasure of interviewing a few live guests. Two of them (pictured below) were Cynthia “Cindy” Nickless, Executive Director of The Presence Radio Network and Kate Sell, Senior Partner, Strategic Planning & Development of Kennedy Brownrigg Group and co-founder of Living Bread Radio AM 1060. These two Catholic radio powerhouses are women who answered Mother Angelica’s invitation to be willing to “do the ridiculous so that God can do the miraculous.” And indeed He did.
It was my pleasure to meet Cindy, Kate and all of the attendees of the Catholic Radio Conference and I look forward to meeting these and other new friends next year. Maybe one of them will be you.
