A tiny baby girl in China, who was born three months premature and was thought to have been stillborn, was discovered alive after being buried alive for two hours.
The Daily Mail is reporting on the story of the little girl who was born earlier this month to Lu Xiaoyun and her husband He Yong.
Lu, who believed she was only four months pregnant, was at work on the family’s farm in Dongdong, in China’s Liaoning Province when she began to experience sharp pains. She gave birth to a baby girl who she believed was stillborn.
She called her husband who rushed home from work to find her sitting in a pool of blood. Lu was rushed to the hospital but He Yong told ambulance staff not to bother with the baby, that it was dead.
However, when the couple arrived at the hospital, a doctor advised them to check the baby thoroughly to be certain she was dead.
They returned home only to discover that Lu’s mother had already buried the child under a tree in the back yard. They hurriedly dug up the child’s body and discovered that she was breathing.
The two returned to the hospital with their daughter who was found to be six months old, not four, and who was treated for three days before the couple ran out of money and were forced to take her back home.
“My mother-in-law has chronic diseases, and I also have a seven-year-old daughter. My wife doesn’t have a job. I am the only one who works,” Mr He said.
But by now, the media had picked up the story of the “miracle baby” and news of the couple’s plight quickly spread throughout the country. Donations began to pour in and they were able to return their little fighter to the hospital where she is currently being kept in an incubator.
