Mary is the fountain of our life in the sense that we all know: Mother of the One Who is life and Who condescended to take His human form from her. He is the fountain of grace which is the communication of Divine Life to the soul. The purely abstract concept of this supernatural reality in the imaginative phrase becomes concrete, it becomes palpable. Mary affirms that she is the life of the soul in all its joyous perfection.
