A well-known pro-life activist was shot and killed this morning outside a Michigan High School. Police report that a suspect has been taken into custody.
According to a report by Argus-Press, the shooting occurred at 7:30 a.m. outside Owosso High School in Owosso, Michigan. The victim, Jim Pouillon of Owosso, a well-known pro life activist, was killed.
Police have cordoned off a section of North Street in front of the school where the shooting occurred. Owosso High School secretary Wendy Smith said the school is in lockdown and confirmed that no students were involved and all are safe with classes going on as normal.
A black car can be seen parked at the scene of the shooting where a portable oxygen tank is lying in a front yard next to a large sign bearing the image of a baby and the word “Life.”
Shortly after Pouillon was killed, another man was shot at a different location and police are trying to determine if the two shootings are related.
“We have two murders,” said Shiawassee County sheriff George Braidwood. “We believe they are related and we have a suspect in custody.”
The suspect was arrested at his home at 8:15 a.m. this morning.
Police are planning a news conference about the shootings at 11:30 a.m. today.
