Page 20-21 First, there is the fundamental function of faith, that is, saying yes to God and to His revelation. There is no other starting point, given the fact that God has spoken His word into the world (Heb 1:1-3). Without this yes of faith there is no possibility of pleasing God, of taking our first steps toward Him (Heb 11:6). We walk “by faith and not by sight” (2 Cor 5:7). Faith, therefore, is the foundational condition for the pursuit of God in His Trinitarian life. In its essence it is an act of obedience to the Lord speaking to His people.
