Abandonment to God leads to conformity to His will. What do I need to abandon to Him at this point in my life – is it a situation; a grudge; a loved one; an unalterable predicament; an illness, sadness, contradiction, or suffering? What do I think God would accomplish in me if I were to abandon my situation to Him?

1.2 Works of penance.  Frequent confession, mortification, alms-giving.

True conversion is shown by the way we behave.  We show that we really want to improve by the way we do our work or study.  We show it by the way we behave towards our family; by offering up to God, in the course of the day, little mortifications which make life for those around us more pleasant, and which make our work more effective.  We can also show it by making a careful preparation for and going frequently to Confession.
