For Reflection:
This passage from Scripture indicates that as I seek to fulfill God’s will for me, I will encounter trials, and it encourages me to be prepared for them. One way in which we experience spiritual trial is through temptation. What are the temptations which most entice me now? Am I prepared to face them? (See tomorrow’s Grace Line to see why preparation for temptation is so important.)

If we stay close to Christ we will always find the cure for our lack of possible ardour, and re-charge ourselves with the strength to overcome our lukewarmness and those defects that we could never overcome by ourselves. When somebody says: ‘I appear to be incorrigible lazy. I am not tenacious; I don’t seem to be able to finish the things I start’, today he ought to think: ‘I am not close enough to Christ’.
