“The Lord was understanding towards His disciples. He had patience with their defects and their less than perfect ways. He did not give up on them. In the years to come these same men would be the pillars of His Church.”
-Francis Fernandez

Origen speaks of angels set in charge of the four elements, who were perhaps well known to St. Paul, and of angels presiding over the different domains of the universe, over the stars, the meteors, the plants, and the animals. St. Thomas Aquinas, moreover, confirms this as a traditional teaching: “All corporeal things are governed by the angels. And this is not only the teaching of the holy doctors, but of all the philosophers.”
