The Reality of Spiritual Motherhood

Just as physical life roots and grows in the female body when sperm and egg meet, so spiritual life roots and grows within the feminine soul when the seed of faith is planted in the sacrament of baptism.  Just as our bodies are filled with new life when we conceive a child, so our souls are to be filled with the life of God.  Just as the womb swells with the growth and development of our child, so the womb of our heart expands with the love and mercy of God.
