Women of Grace Brings Hope to Rhode Island

Recently we received an update and pictures from Roberta Morency, a Women of Grace® Facilitator in Rhode Island.

Barrington, Rhode Island celebrated its first Women of Grace Foundational Study Graduation in September, 2015!  This group of like-minded women from several parishes met once a month for nine months at a beautiful location on the campus of Holy Angels Church.   They traveled a common road, exploring their Catholic faith and the incredible gift of womanhood as they were challenged and encouraged to use their feminine gifts to reclaim the culture for Christ.  These precious women were individually unique but grew in fellowship and the bond of Sacred Sisterhood though their journey together.

053One very special woman, Agnes, shared her story with the group. Being from Korea, she had great difficulty with the English language. Her incredible persistence was endearing to all as she persevered by translating each lesson and then doing the homework as best she could. She wrote her testimony at the end of the study and made the following statements:

“Through these years of journey with God, I thought I had accepted myself and given myself to God. However, through this Woman of Grace Study I realized I have still many things to give up.”

Agnes struggled with letting go of her son as he reached college age. She prayed about this trying to surrender the situation to God and the day she dropped him off at college she said, “I could feel Jesus’s love; He loves me and my son like that. No purpose! Because I am His daughter. That day I feel I am free from the obsession of my son. I can entrust my son to God.” She said, “I realized there is a level of acceptance. I accept my situation, my family, and my sufferings deeper and deeper in my mind which leaded me to a deeper appreciation of God through this study. So many blessings for me, from small things to big things that I couldn’t imagine before I started this study.”

042We rejoice about all that God, through Mary, has done and is doing with women who participated in the Holy Angels study group.

They will be starting another study in January and will be meeting on a Wednesday mornings as well as a Tuesday evenings, making the program available to those who cannot come during the daytime.

Roberta concludes, “How blessed we are to have this program! Thank you Women of Grace for providing this powerful tool ‘for such a time as this.'”
