In anticipation of the increased demand for abortion and family planning services that will result from the passage of ObamaCare, Planned Parenthood has announced plans to open another “super clinic” in St. Paul, Minnesota.

According to a press release issued by Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL), the nation’s large abortion provider is planning to build a 46,000 square foot, three-story facility in St. Paul’s Midway neighborhood. The location is home to two universities and a growing ethnic population, which places the new abortuary near two of Planned Parenthood’s largest markets – college women and minorities.

When the structure is completed in 2011, it will be the largest abortion facility in the state. The site will join a growing number of “super clinics” being opened throughout the country, such as a facility in Chicago and the largest abortuary in the U.S., a 78,000 square foot clinic in Houston.

The new center will replace the existing facility in Highland Park that has been a lightening rod for pro-life protests for the last 30 years. The “super clinic” will be in an industrial area with a large parking area, fences, and greenery, all aimed to increase privacy and hinder pro-life counselors and protestors.

“We’re not surprised to see Planned Parenthood position itself to receive millions more taxpayer dollars under President Obama’s new health care mandates,” said Scott Fischbach, Executive Director of Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL). “Obama’s intent has always been to pour much more public money into Planned Parenthood, and the Minnesota affiliate is poised to build an enormous receptacle for that money.”

Sarah Stoesz, President of Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, told the Star-Tribune that the organization is preparing for a possible increase in demand because of the passage of ObamaCare, which will add millions of people to insurance rolls starting in 2014.

Many will be the lower-income and young adults that Planned Parenthood serves, she said. “We don’t know exactly what health care reform will mean for our patients,” she said. “But I anticipate that more people will access health care.”

That view is shared by the head of Planned Parenthood, President Cecile Richards, who has gone on record saying she believes the passage of ObamaCare will “significantly increase access to reproductive health care.”

“Planned Parenthood is all about money, and its new abortion center is being positioned to take in many more millions of taxpayer dollars for abortions,” Fischbach said. “It is a tragedy to see Planned Parenthood driving up its revenues at the expense of innocent unborn children and their mothers.”
