The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick
After His ascension into heaven, Jesus continued His ministry of healing through the apostles and through His Church (Acts 9:34; 14:3, James 5:14-15), where it continues to the present day….Quoting the Council of Trent, it continues: “This sacred anointing of the sick was instituted by Christ our Lord as a true and proper sacrament of the New Testament.  It is alluded to indeed by Mark, but it is recommended to the faithful and promulgated by James the apostle and brother of the Lord.”
