Please keep EWTN’s Father Mitch Pacwa in your prayers as he recovers from a recent heart attack.
Michael P. Warsaw, CEO of EWTN, posted the following statement on Facebook:
“At about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016, Father Mitch Pacwa, S.J., suffered a heart attack while here in Birmingham. He has responded well to the angioplasty that was done on Saturday night. In typical Fr. Mitch fashion, he commented, ‘Apparently heaven doesn’t want me and hell is afraid I will take over.’ We ask our EWTN family to keep Fr. Mitch in your prayers as he continues his recovery.”
Fr. Mitch started his career at EWTN after making a guest appearance on Mother Angelica Live in 1984. Mother Angelica invited him back and he did so with increasing frequency in spite of his fulltime teaching job at Loyola in Chicago and the University of Dallas. In 2001, he moved to Birmingham and went to work fulltime at EWTN.
He has a busy schedule at the largest religious media organization in the world. He hosts two shows a week – EWTN Live and Threshold of Hope – and Open Line, a weekly call-in radio show .
Let us all keep this beloved priest in our prayers as he continues his recovery.
