Introduction

…I was what you might call a thoroughly modern girl who wore her skirts short, her jeans tight, her hair as platinum as possible, and enough makeup to cover what was nobody’s business but mine.  Yes, when that “great river in the sky” parted for me, I was just another cradle Catholic who did the whole parochial school shtick and ended up being about as interested in God as I was in watching a fly crawl up a television screen.
