Introduction

You see, I came of age in the early 1970s, when women gloried in the freedom to pursue any career they wanted while sleeping around and having abortions whenever birth control failed. It all felt so empowering. Even after my marriage broke up and I was free to roam, I took great pride in living on my terms. I worked hard, spent every dime on clothes and miscellaneous fashion accessories and dreamed of one day becoming a great writer.
