The Problem of Pornography
Many of these businesses had back rooms where pornographic videotapes and DVDs were offered. Instead of being offended by this, people joked about it and came to accept it. Thus, the porn shop that was once only found in a seedy part of town moved into everyone’s community. People began to view pornography simply as harmless “adult entertainment.” This acceptance of pornography paved the way for the tidal wave of pornography that would hit America in the 1990s.
