“There is no more evident sign that anyone is aSuffering, 2 Timothy 1_12 saint and of the number of the elect than to see him leading a good life and at the same time a prey to desolation, suffering, and trials.”

                             ~St. Aloysius Gonzaga

For Reflection:

When I am desolate, suffering, or enduring a trial, would my interior and exterior life show that I should be counted among the elect? If not, what needs to be amended?

The Problem of Pornography

Beginning in the early 1990s, any home with a computer and a phone line could access pornography via the Internet. It was accessible, affordable and anonymous. It could be viewed any time of day or night and the types of pornography available seemed endless. Since there is no way to monitor who was viewing internet pornography, there was no way to protect children from it. This made obscenity laws almost obsolete. No one was protected. Porn became mainstreamed (Carnes 2007, Dines 2010, Struthers 2009).
