Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord

gracelinesheader

“Jesus goes before us to show us the way,God's glory8 both up the mountain and into heaven, and – I speak boldly – it is for us now to follow Him with all speed, yearning for that heavenly vision that will give us a share in His radiance, renew our spiritual nature and transform us into His likeness, making us for ever sharers in His Godhead and raising us to heights as yet undreamed of.”                                                                  ~Anastasius of Sinai, Bishop
For Reflection:
What “mountain” am I ascending now? How is the glory of the Lord and heaven reflected in it? To what extent am I permitting it to renew my spiritual nature and transform me into the likeness of Jesus? What are the special graces I am receiving in it and through it?

The creative authority of Christ exists within a covenant–namely that Christ is in a personal unity with what He has created. This means that authority is not monist, single, and atomized. Authentic authority exists within a covenant of love and is exercised from within this covenant. Authority in the Christian faith exists within the one flesh of the New Adam and the New Eve.
