“Do not devote your attention to the fallaciesTruth lies of artificial discourses, nor the vain promises of heretics, but to the venerable simplicity of unassuming truth.”

                                         ~St. Hippolytus
                                           (170? – 236?)

For Reflection:

How do I open myself up to the “fallacies of artificial discourses” prevalent in today’s culture? Consider what I read, what I view, what I discuss, and the opinions I hold.

INTRODUCTION

This book’s dependence on the Fathers demonstrates that covenantal authority and the meaning of feminine authority are anchored in the very fabric of Christian tradition. Authority in the Catholic Church is covenantal; redemption is the result of a unity between Christ and the Church. Revelation itself discloses that male and female sexuality are the prime symbols of the covenant of redemption.
