INTRODUCTION
Feminine ecclesial authority begins with Mary the Mother of God. By her “fiat” she is God’s covenantal partner in the Order of Redemption. Mary is the source of Christ’s incarnational life in the world. Thus her “fiat” makes her an origin of life that is intrinsically constitutive of the New Creation. Furthermore, Mary has authority in the mission of her Son.
