An Indiana abortionist has lost his medical license after being found guilty on multiple counts of breaking state health and safety laws; meanwhile, a notorious East Coast abortionist has been forced to file for bankruptcy after losing a multi-million dollar lawsuit in a botched abortion case.
LifeNews.com is reporting on the case of Ulrich Klopfer, a longtime abortion doctor whose medical license was revoked after the Indiana Medical Licensing Board found him guilty of nine charges ranging from record-keeping and informed consent law errors to the failure to report abortions performed on a 13 year-old girl who was a victim of statutory rape. The also Board found that he failed to ensure informed and voluntary consent to patients and that qualified staff was not on hand to monitor patients who had received sedation.
“The Indiana Medical Licensing Board’s decision to suspend Klopfer’s medical license effectively puts an end to his decades of shameful practices in Indiana,” said Mike Fichter, President and CEO of Indiana Right to Life.
“Klopfer has displayed grave disregard for women’s health, as evidenced by his failure to comply with basic health standards and simple reporting requirements. Among his violations are the appalling failures to report abortions on time for 13-year-old girls. During the testimony, Klopfer had to audacity to admit that once he did an abortion on a 10-year-old girl, 21-weeks pregnant by her uncle, and her sent her back home with her parents rather than notify authorities to the abuse.”
In another case, the notorious abortionist Steven Chase Brigham, who already lost his medical license in several states, has been forced to shutter his Englewood Women’s Services in New Jersey after a judge awarded a former patient $6.5 million after a botched abortion.
According to a report by Operation Rescue’s Cheryl Sullenger, a woman named Christy O’Connell went to Brigham’s Maryland abortion facility in July of 2012 when she was about 10 weeks pregnant. An abortionist decided to administer a chemical abortion drug cocktail of methotrexate and misoprostol instead of the FDA approved combination of mifepristone and misoprostol.
The prescribing doctor substituted methotrexate, a cheap but dangerous chemotherapy drug, because it costs considerably less than the approved mifepristone, allowing the clinic to cut costs and maximize profits.
In addition to being a dangerous drug, it also has a slightly higher failure rate than mifepristone, which explains why the procedure failed. The woman gave birth to a child with significant health issues.
After a judge ruled in favor of the woman, bankruptcy paperwork reveals that Brigham’s Englewood abortion clinic is $51,000 behind on rent payments and is facing eviction. He also owes more than $500,000 in fines and other costs.
However, in spite of these very significant violations, Brigham is still running abortion facilities in Maryland and Virginia!
And Klopfer’s license has only been revoked for six months!
This is what “safe legal abortion” looks like in the U.S.
