Resisting Bad Thoughts

What a transforming way to look at temptation! Today I will follow St. Teresa’s advice and examine conscience at day’s end to see how well I have done.

                FOREWORD

If the public exchange were a true conversation, it might be salutary. It might be good for us. But it’s not. It’s more like an exchange of gunfire. It’s more like shots fired at long distance from behind bunkered walls. What should be reasoned out is instead flamed out in social-media comboxes, where everyone is raging and no one is listening. How good it would be if we could move the exchange out of the battlefield, out of the comboxes, and even out of the courts.
