Feast of St. Pio of Pieltracina, Priest (1887 – 1968)

“…when a soul does everything possibleFear Padre Pio and trusts divine mercy, why would Jesus reject such a spirit? If you have given and consecrated everything to God, why be afraid?

                                             ~St. Pio

For Reflection:
The evil one seeks to discourage us through fear; but, as St. Pio reminds us, God calls us to trust. What one fear is the evil one sowing in my heart to discourage me? What does St. Pio recommend I do? I will do it now and ask the intercession of St. Pio.

INTRODUCTION

What happens next? The course ahead of you may still be unclear. And so, we begin this “widow’s walk.” This prayer journal will help you to draw from a rich treasury of spiritual graces: Scriptures, quotes from and stories about the saints, and other prayers and reflection questions that will lead you to draw closer to Jesus, our Second Bridegroom, and His mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary. She is a model for us, having experienced during her lifetime the loss of her beloved spouse.
