“We need heralds of the Gospel who are experts in humanity, who know the depths of the heart of many today, who share in his hopes and joys, his worries and his sadness, and at the same time are contemplatives, in love with God.”
~Pope St. John Paul II
For Reflection:
Given my state in life, in what three ways can I be a herald of the Gospel? And, given my state in life, how can I be a contemplative? (Hint: See tomorrow’s Graceline for one answer to this question.)

36. PRAYERS TO THE MOTHER OF JESUS
36.1 The Virgin always brings us to her Son.
Today’s Gospel reading gives us an excellent prayer with which to honour the Son of God by venerating His mother. Jesus is delighted to hear praises of Mary. This is why we pray the Holy Rosary with such devotion. In the the words of Pope John Paul II: As the woman in the Gospel cried out full of admiration and blessing for Jesus and His Mother, you too usually unite Jesus and Mary in your devotion and love. You understand that the Blessed Virgin leads us to her divine Son, and that he always listens to his Mother’s request. Having recourse to the Virgin is the shortest road to Jesus, and through Him to the Holy Trinity.
