Hollywood has once again proven its desire to advance the culture of death by awarding an Emmy to actor Al Pacino for his portrayal of assisted suicide guru and convicted murderer Jack Kevorkian in an HBO film.

LifeNews.com is reporting that Pacino won the award for the movie, You Don’t Know Jack, which gave a positive portrayal of the retired pathologist who spent eight years behind bars for the 1998 “mercy killing” of 52 year-old Thomas Youk, whose death was videotaped and eventually aired on CBS’ 60 Minutes. Kevorkian is believed to have killed more than 100 people via assisted suicide before the state of Michigan banned the practice.

During his acceptance speech, Pacino praised Kevorkian, calling him “brilliant and interesting and unique.”

“It’s really an honor to have had the pleasure to try to portray someone as brilliant and interesting and unique as Dr. Jack Kevorkian and the fun I had just trying to get inside his head, which, of course, I could never,” Pacino said.

Kevorkian, who was in attendance, stood up to accept Pacino’s accolades and received a round of applause from the audience.
