Supermodel Kathy Ireland, who used to describe herself as a “pro-choice Christian,” is speaking out about the cruel practice of late-term abortion which subjects the unborn to unspeakable pain.
While in Washington, DC for the Pro-Life Leaders Summit, Kathy Ireland gave a brief but powerful statement on the need to pass legislation that protects the unborn from the pain of abortion.
“It’s heartbreaking when we recognize that our country is amongst the very few that embrace late-term abortion,” Ireland said. “We’re in the company of North Korea.”
Ireland, who changed her mind about abortion after reading her husband’s medical textbooks, continued: “We cannot deny science. It’s inarguable. When we look at the sonogram we see a human being. We see the movement. We see it sucking its thumb. If it’s not alive, what is it?”
Pro-life leaders across the country are rallying around the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (HR 36), introduced in January of this year, which will make it a crime to perform an abortion past 20 weeks of gestation. Abortionists who violate this law will be subject to fines, up to five years in prison, or both.
The bill is currently pending with the Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice.
