A devastating new video featuring former Planned Parenthood clinic workers provides a myth-shattering look at what really happens inside America’s largest abortion provider – and it has nothing to do with the welfare of women.
Newsbusters is reporting on the new video, produced by And Then There Were None (ATTWN), the ministry founded by former clinic worker Abby Johnson to help abortion clinic workers find new careers. The women featured in the film worked at Planned Parenthood clinics and reveal a money-first agenda that defies the public image of the abortion chain as being concerned with women’s rights and safety.
Sue Thayer, former Manager at Planned Parenthood, appears first in the video and corroborates what Johnson has been saying for years – the abortion industry has both abortion and birth control quotas that clinics are pressured to meet.
“For birth control pills there’s a line, how many you’re supposed to sell in a month,” Thayer says. “Abortions? Same thing.”
She also revealed that Planned Parenthood has an “in-house” abortion fund – ironically called the Justice Fund – for women who could not afford an abortion.
Planned Parenthood is focused on “one agenda,” says Shelly Guillory, a former Registered Nurse at Delta Clinic and Women’s Health in the video. And the agenda is to “end a pregnancy.”
Monica Leal Cline, former HIV Health Educator and Title X Training Manager at Planned Parenthood, agreed.
“Planned Parenthood, again, is very aggressive. They are a sales team,” Cline said. “They want to make money, and they want as many customers as possible.”
This is one of the reasons why workers are taught that “Parents are a barrier to service. We don’t want parents involved.”
They even go so far as to offer women incentives to have an abortion.
“After paying pretty much, writing off the balance of the procedure, we would give them, $50 to a $150, basically cash, because it was on a Visa debit card for them to get a hotel and gas money to make sure that they came back,” said Annette Lancaster, former Manager at Planned Parenthood.
But what about that famous Planned Parenthood motto, “Care. No Matter What”?
It’s just another empty platitude. Former clinic workers have consistently testified to the fact that at Planned Parenthood, their bottom line is what they care about most, not women.
Why do so many women buy into this spin even though there is a plethora of evidence disputing it?
Because so many women are just too busy with the daily grind to bother to do a little research. In my case, it took several “acts of God” (literally) to put this evidence into my path so that I would trip over it and have no choice but look at the facts.
As I describe in my book, We Need to Talk: God Speaks to a Modern Girl, the first bombshell came in the form of seeing an ultrasound image on television featuring a 10 week old fetus that had tiny fingers and toes and a beating heart. I remember thinking to myself, “But they (Planned Parenthood) say it’s just a blob of cells. That sure doesn’t look like a blob of cells to me.”
And then I learned the truth about the “coat hanger” myth that is used by the abortion industry to strike fear into women about what might happen if abortion was outlawed. Although women might still resort to unsafe means to abort unwanted children, the advent of penicillin in the 1940’s greatly reduced the number of maternal deaths. And Planned Parenthood knows this! In the July 1960 edition of the American Journal of Public Health – which was 13 years before Roe v. Wade – an article by the medical director of Planned Parenthood at the time, Dr. Mary Calderon, acknowledged that the death rate for what were, at the time, illegal abortions, was very low mostly because of better medical care.
In other words, the “coat hanger” myth is simply a device used to manipulate women into adopting their ideology.
Needless to say, these revelations began to cause cracks in my feminist armor which eventually led to a total collapse of that inane ideology.
As Newsbusters surmises, the bottom line is that the abortion industry has nothing to do with protecting women’s rights. It’s nothing more than a business – a monstrous, deadly business – that must be shut down for the sake of us all.
